As a Parent and spectator, I agree to conduct myself in a manner that complies with the OPAA Program Code of Conduct at all times.

  1. I will help ensure that my child is mentally and physically prepared for practices and games.
  2. I will remember and reinforce the fact that our children are students first and work to support their academic, athletic and personal development in balance.
  3. I will support the coaches and the officials in their decisions and will not undermine any coach or official.
  4. I will ensure my child is at all practices and games on time, gear in hand, fully dressed and ready to work and play hard. If I am unable to do this on any given day, I will communicate this to a coach.
  5. I understand and will respect that once the coaches are on the diamond with the players, there will be no interference – I will not coach my child through the fence, I will not override what the coaches are trying to do instructionally, I will not call my child over to the fence or off the field for any reason during practices or games.
  6. I understand that only the coaching staff is allowed in or around the dugout during game time and that no parents or siblings should step foot in the dugout during a game.
  7. I will provide drinks, snacks etc. to my child prior to the game and understand that if my child needs something during a game, they should discuss this need with a coach.
  8. If needed, I will talk privately with my child’s coach regarding any concerns with his participation.
  9. I understand and respect the fact that the coaching staff creates the lineup based upon their evaluation of who gives the team the best opportunity to compete and who has had the best workout during the previous practice week before a game or tournament.
  10. I will refrain from making any derogatory remarks or inappropriate actions toward the umpires. They are a symbol of fair play, integrity and sportsmanship.
  11. I will refrain from conflict with members of the opposing team’s players, coaches or parents.
  12. I will refrain from the use of and/or being under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs before or during any practice, game or other OPAA Program event, or while on or around the grounds which host OPAA Program activities.
  13. I will refrain from any other behavior that is illegal at the location of any OPAA Program event. I will remember as a parent that I represent the OPAA Program at each and every practice, game and other team function.
  14. I will cheer loudly at all times for my child and each of his teammates!!
